This extension project, built on agricultural land, is meant to be an analogy to the work of the earth and harvest.
The first floor, all in concrete, follows a regular grid and hollows out the ground to criss-cross it. Its linear geometry is inspired by the equipment used to plow the land. A repetition of perpendicular walls, also in concrete, organizes the building into distinct work zones for multidisciplinary teams.
A single volume, with many windows, balances above this concrete harrow and opens on either side to vegetable gardens on the roofs. It borrows its silhouette and character from the neighboring barn. This construction is in perfect alignment with the existing facilities, a link between market gardening work and that of research and administration. The team can thus admire the fruits of their labor.
